The United Nations Development Programme has recently announced that 75% of families in Afghanistan are unable to meet their basic needs, including access to food, healthcare services, and shelter.
In a statement released the organization mentioned that it is working with its partners to provide essential services to over five million people across Afghanistan.
The United Nations Development Programme further emphasized that thousands of schools and healthcare centers in Afghanistan lack sustainable electricity or face limited access to power.
The organization added that it has provided solar energy to 1,300 healthcare centers and schools in 19 provinces of Afghanistan.
Additionally, the United Nations Development Programme stated that it has delivered 15.6 million instances of essential healthcare services to the citizens of Afghanistan.
These services include treatment and prevention of malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS.
The United Nations Development Programme has also noted that more than five million people now have access to clean energy in 6,600 public facilities.
