In a statement released the organization mentioned that alongside the escalating humanitarian needs, the resources and capacities of aid agencies to respond to the affected individuals are facing serious challenges and severe limitations.
The International Organization for Migration emphasized that with the recurrence and intensification of events caused by climate change, the number of people in need of urgent humanitarian assistance has significantly increased, but the capacity and resources of aid organizations are facing serious challenges.
The organization stated that with the financial support of donors and in coordination with its partners, efforts to deliver aid to affected communities continue.
According to this entity, the main priority is to reach those individuals who have been most affected by these crises.
Additionally, the International Organization for Migration has highlighted the necessity of increasing international support and strengthening response capacities to address the expanding consequences of climate change in Afghanistan.
Various UN agencies had warned in 2025 that Afghanistan would experience the most severe drought. This comes at a time when Afghanistan has been enduring prolonged drought conditions for several years.
