In response to the ongoing ban on girls’ education, the Afghanistan Rights Monitor states that each day that passes without girls receiving an education is a day that will never return.
In a message posted on its X account, the organization noted that girls in Afghanistan are still waiting for a classroom, a book, and their future.
The Afghanistan Rights Monitor further emphasized that the world should not remain silent in the face of the deprivation of education for girls beyond the sixth grade.
The organization has called for opportunities to be created for girls to return to school.
It was mentioned that 1,770 days have passed since the ban on education for girls above the sixth grade was imposed.
This comes as the interim government has deprived women and girls of education and learning since taking control of Afghanistan. In its latest restriction, it closed the doors of medical institutes to girls and women, while the health sector across Afghanistan faces a shortage of personnel.
This government’s action has resulted in millions of female students being unable to access education.
Additionally, women have been banned from going to sports clubs, restaurants, public baths, being examined by male doctors, traveling without a male guardian, and working in both domestic and international NGOs, as well as at UN offices in Afghanistan.
According to reports, if this ban continues, nearly four million girls may be deprived of education by 2030.
